PC equipment and software requirements
The program runs on a standard PC that has an available COM port for connection to the radio. The COM port may be a conventional Serial port or a USB serial port. Port numbers 1 - 32 are supported.
It has been developed and tested on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. It will not run on Windows 8 RT version which does not support desktop applications
A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 is required, but 1024 x 768 or above is recommended. Font scaling of 96dpi (standard) and 120dpi (large) are supported; some custom sizes may give rise to problems displaying the grids.
The program will detect the international character used for the decimal point and format numbers accordingly.
The FT-847 requires a standard 'Null modem' cable with a female 9-pin connector at the radio end. The other rigs require a level converter - usually a Yaesu CT-62. Refer to your handbook for the correct cabling, and here for further connection details.
