The CSV Memory file editor
The CSV Memory File Editor enables you to edit .CSV files that can be used for importing into the program. These .CSV files are in FTBasic format and are compatible with the free radio control program FTBCAT as well as the other memory management programs written by the author.
The editor is shown in its own window by clicking the Tools menu, CSV Memory file editor command and can be open at the same time as a radio memories window.
The contents of the CSV Memory file editor grid are automatically saved and restored each time you close or open the window.
The first time you start the program the grid contains only one entry. Use the Edit menu to insert/change/delete/move etc. or the File menu, Add a CSV file to the grid command to add an existing CSV file.
Adding a CSV file of frequencies to the grid
By clicking the File menu and choosing the 'Add a CSV file to grid' command you can import a previously saved collection of memories - and either add to the existing grid entries or replace the current contents.
Saving all or part of the Memory Grid as a CSV file
To save the memories grid as a CSV file use either 'Save All as a CSV file' or 'Save Filtered as a CSV file in the File menu. The contents of the grid are saved in the same CSV format as used elsewhere in the program. Save Filtered only saves those rows that are visible in the grid, Save All saves all rows whether they are shown or not.
Setting up for split frequency or cross-band working
Because the grid has separate receive and transmit frequencies and modes, you can set up in-band or cross-band split frequency memories.
Sorting the Grid
The memory grid can be sorted by name or frequency. The Edit menu contains the sort commands.
Deleting an entry
To delete a memory, click anywhere in the row of the memory you want to delete and then press the Delete key. To prevent accidental deletion you will get an 'are you sure' type message.
Editing entries in the Grid
To edit a memory either type directly in a cell or select a value from the drop-down list that appears when you enter the cell.
Filtering what is shown in the Grid
Use the Filters to control which memories you see in the grid.
There are filters for lowest and highest frequency, operating mode and two Group identities.
Group identities can be 0 to 9 or A to Z, so there are 36 different groups.
Each type of filter can be either 'applied' or not. By using the filters you can show subsets of a memory grid.
To clear all the filters and show all of the memories in the grid, choose the 'Clear all filters' command from the View menu.
If the grid does not show on-screen
It is possible for the Memory Grid window to be accidentally moved off the Windows desktop area. If this happens then use the Tools menu and select the 'Reset Memory file editor...' command. The next time you display the Memory editor it will appear at the top left-hand corner of your screen.
